The Changing Global Geography of Cultural and Creative Production: Opportunities and Prospects for China

Introduction:
For a very long time, the global geography of cultural and creative production has been dominated by the USA thanks to their pivotal role in most cultural and creative industries. The situation is quickly changing due to the pervasive effects of new modes of digital production and dissemination of cultural and creative content. Professor Sacco will explain how, in this new and emerging context, China can become a new innovation leader in cultural and creative content production, also taking advantage of the pathbreaking experimentation and development of new creative and business models taking places in nearby countries such as South Korea.

Speaker:
Professor Pier Luigi SACCO

Professor of Cultural Economics Rectoral Delegate for European Projects and International Networks, IULM University, Italy Senior Researcher, OECD, CFE/LEED, Harvard University metaLAB, Bruno Kessler Foundation
