The Centre has invited Mr José Pessoa, the Head of Culture and Communication Statistics of UNESCO Institute for Statistics, to deliver a public lecture on researching Global Data on Culture and Innovation. In this lecture, he will explain the work at UNESCO focusing on the current data collected and methodologies produced in the areas of Culture and Innovation and the challenges in these areas of statistics.
There will be discussion after the lecture. Discussants include:

About Mr José Pessoa
Mr José Pessoa is currently Head of Culture and Communication Statistics at UNESCO Institute of Statistics (UIS) located in Montreal, Canada. He has over 16 years’ experience at the international level in managing programmes responsible for international data collection and dissemination, the publication of standards, methodologies, and supporting capacity building in countries, in the fields of culture and education statistics and more recently in communication statistics.
