About Professor Frode Helland
Professor Frode Helland is currently Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Professor of Scandinavian Studies, University of Oslo, Norway. He has been Director of the Centre for Ibsen Studies and has led international research projects on Ibsen Studies. Under his leadership, the Centre for Ibsen Studies has developed “IbsenStage”, which is a powerful digital humanities database storing the performance data of Ibsen performances all over the world in the last 150 years. His recent publications include Ibsen on Theatre (Nic Hern Books, 2018), Ibsen Between Cultures (Novus Forlag, 2016), A Global Doll’s House: Ibsen and Distant Visions (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016), and Ibsen in Practice: Relational Readings of Performance, Cultural Encounters and Power (London: Methuen, 2015).
