Inclusive Development Workshop: Greater China and Beyond

Inclusive development is a pro-poor approach that equally values and incorporates the contributions of all stakeholders – including marginalized groups – in addressing development issues.

In order to shed new light on long-standing problems, the Centre will organize on 10-11 August 2018 an international workshop titled, “Inclusive Development: Greater China and Beyond” by bringing together Asian and African scholars conducting research on inclusive development exchanges for and intensive discussion about the meaning, significance, and implementation of inclusive development.

From all over the world, we have invited the top scholars on this subject to come to Hong Kong and engage in an intense dialogue that will bring out knowledge of the highest level.

Details are as follows:

Date: 10-11 August 2018 (Friday and Saturday)

Venue: D801, College Chamber, Lee Quo Wei Academic Building (Block D), Hang Seng Management College

There will be 7 thematic panel sessions in this two-day event. Each panel will feature papers from invited speakers from Asia and Africa, and a moderator will guide the discussion. Thematic topics include:

  2. Inclusive Political Development
  3. Development and Poverty
  4. Religion and Nationalism
  5. Development in Rural Area
  6. Ethics of Ubuntu
  7. Development & Human Rights
